Holy Redeemer School is proud to provide a wide range of enriching learning opportunities for our Middle Years School students (grades 5-8) each year. Through the Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) curriculum, students participate in project-based learning that ignites creativity and nurtures practical skills.

Our programs feature hands-on engaging courses such as Computer Technology, Fine Arts and Drama Club, Music, Recreation and Leadership, and other innovative options designed by our talented teachers. The available choices may vary each year, reflecting the evolving interests of students and the broader community.

We are also excited to share how our students connect, grow, and thrive through our House Teams wellness initiative. Rooted in faith, this program includes students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, fostering empathy, cooperation, and consideration for others. Through engaging activities, meaningful connections, and a shared commitment to core values, we inspire students to build strong relationships, develop understanding, and become compassionate leaders in a supportive and inclusive community.

Computer Technology - 

Explore the fascinating world of computer technology with this dynamic course, featuring five engaging modules: Coding, Robotics, Digital Art, Stop Motion, and 3D Design.

  • Coding: Dive into programming languages and enhance problem-solving skills while learning the foundations of code.
  • Robotics: Discover the principles of automation by building and programming robots, blending creativity with engineering.
  • Digital Art: Unleash your creativity through graphic design and digital illustration, transforming ideas into visual masterpieces.
  • Stop Motion: Enter the captivating realm of animation, mastering the techniques to bring inanimate objects to life frame by frame.
  • 3D Design: Learn to design three-dimensional models and bring them to reality using 3D printing technology.

This comprehensive course provides students with hands-on experience and equips them with the skills to thrive in today's tech-driven world.

Recreation and Leadership -

Recreation and Leadership students will have the opportunity to venture outside the classroom weekly to engage in activities that promote physical and emotional well-being. These activities include swimming, skating, skiing, snowboarding, wall climbing, martial arts, wheelchair basketball, arcade fitness, and more.

In addition, students will explore various leadership styles and develop their leadership skills through hands-on projects. They will play a key role in planning and organizing school events and tasks such as:

  • The Terry Fox Run
  • Seasonal events (e.g., Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day)
  • Track and Field
  • Intramural activities
  • Updating sports team bulletin boards
  • Scorekeeping

This dynamic program combines active participation with leadership development, equipping students with valuable skills for future success.
